OPEIU Local 153 is thrilled to be a part of this essential conversation with the 2025 mayoral candidates about tackling the affordability crisis for our members and their loved ones in New York City.
The cost of living in NYC has spiraled out of control. Rising housing costs, unaffordable child care, and stagnant wages are forcing middle- and working-class New Yorkers out of the city they call home. This forum is your chance to hear directly from candidates about their plans to make NYC a place where families and workers can not only live but thrive.
Topics include:
Child Care: Reducing costs and protecting vital programs like 3K and Pre-K.
Home Care: Ensuring quality, affordable care for older adults and care workers.
Housing: Addressing the urgent need for affordable homes across the city.
Living Wages: Advocating for fair pay and economic justice for all workers.
